Hello people, It feels refreshing to put up content on this bit of my site again. Its been really busy lately and one hardly ever has time for personal work or even volunteering for that matter. That being said, I have never joined Otto and his team on any Slum2School event even though I have always praised their cause. Fortunately for me, I was free this past weekend and decided to lend my support in the little way I could by joining the walk. So the walk was tagged “A WALK TO REMEMBER” and it turned out to be just that. It gave a sense of community service and giving back to the less privileged children, it was fun, it was a great opportunity to network, and for some others, it turned out to be the only form of exercise they have had in weeks.
Belated Birthday wishes to Monalisa Chinda who decided to join the walk on her day as well to support the cause. And to everyone who came around, I want to believe the kids really appreciate your presence and donations.
I’m really glad I joined the walk and I look forward to other events with great causes as this. Do enjoy the images, relive the day and share to your networks. Thanks.
Bonus Info: It costs only N30,000 to support a child for 1 year and that provides all the educational and school materials, psychosocial and medical support that child needs, For more information about the campaign and the how to be part of it visit their website, blog and follow them on all social media platforms @Slum2School: http://slum2school.wordpress.com/1000-dreams-campaign and http://www.slumtoschool.org
